The Role
As Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of transactional finance across Australia and New Zealand. This is a hands-on role spanning month-end, tax compliance, and financial control, with exposure across multiple entities and close collaboration with operations and the wider finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate, timely month-end close across journals, accruals and reconciliations


• Manage core transactional finance including receivables, banking and cashflow forecasting


• Partner with operations to ensure integrity of procurement, inventory and warehouse transactions


• Prepare NZ GST returns and support AU BAS, PAYG and payroll tax compliance


• Support group tax, transfer pricing and statutory reporting requirements


• Assist with audits and financial statement preparation


• Provide guidance and backup support to Accounts Payable and purchasing processes


• Contribute to group reporting (HFM), FX revaluations and cash reporting


• Participate in a group-wide ERP implementation project


• Support cross-functional initiatives and the wider finance team

About You

You’re a proactive, detail-driven accountant who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and improving how things are done. You’re confident working across both transactional and technical accounting, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will bring:

• 3–5+ years’ experience in financial or commercial accounting, ideally within FMCG


• CA/CPA qualified (or working towards completion)


• Strong month-end and technical accounting capability


• Solid understanding of NZ and AU tax compliance (GST, BAS, PAYG)


• Experience with large ERP systems (Dynamics AX/D365 preferred)


• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset


• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
