Financial Accountant - Growth-Minded Organization

Our client, a large & complex central government organisation, are looking for a a hands-on, CA-qualified Financial Accountant to join their high-performing Finance team on a permanent basis.

This role will see you work collaboratively and lead the design, development and maintenance of the organisations financial reporting systems, reports and ledgers. You'll complete monthly, annual and other financial reporting; being the subject matter expert on all financial policies. A key focus for this role is business improvement and working with the the wider finance team to ensure an improved audit rating. 

Skills, experience & personal attributes required:

• 3-5 years of strong financial accounting & controls experience in a large, complex public or private sector organisation, including a good working knowledge of accounting transactions, journals, reconciliations, assets, liabilities, and (at least) a basic knowledge of NZ taxation.
• Experience with the accounting processes of SAP (S4HANA).
• Thorough knowledge and demonstrable competence in financial accounting practices and procedures including an extensive knowledge and understanding of PBE IPSAS/NZ GAAP.
