About the Role

The Financial Controller plays a critical role in overseeing the financial control environment, related systems and statutory compliance for Aramex New Zealand office. Reporting to the CFO and forming a key role in the finance structure for Aramex New Zealand, the Financial Controller supports the profitable growth of the Aramex business through managing the finance operations function to deliver the Company’s financial performance reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities relating to Financial Control include:

  • Financial reports for Aramex New Zealand, monthly accounts & costing analysis, and the provision of management reports to various business departments and teams enabling them to effectively manage their departmental budgets. Ensuring all financial and management reporting is completed in a timely and accurate fashion. 
  • Ensuring that all reports are delivered to stakeholders by due dates, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Variance Analysis and Cash flow reports. 
  • Management of employees including training and mentoring.
  • Managing and coordinating the annual budgeting meetings across the stakeholder group 
  • Management of cashflow and treasury functions.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of finance activities across the company to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks. 
  • Ensuring statutory audit obligations are delivered effectively with full compliance on financial control area. 

 

 Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with current full membership to the Chartered Accountants Institute of Australia & New Zealand is preferred
  • Demonstrated and proven experience in accounting related roles 
  • Deep analytical capability and ability to apply strategic thinking to financial reporting and analysis. 
  • Demonstratable experience in planning, implementing & managing effective organisation-wide processes, and demonstrated success in influencing business decisions. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with ability to consult and provide advice to all levels of the organisation. 
  • Strong business and management report writing skills. 
  • Strong team management skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances. 
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting software packages.
