My client is well established in the heavy hire & machinery sector in New Zealand. After further growth they are now looking to expand their team by bringing on board a customer focused National Operations Manager.
You will oversea daily operations within the business, managing the Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch branches, with a total of 28 direct reports.
This role will appeal to an experienced and highly capable Operations Manager with the skills and expertise to take on this senior role - reporting in to the General Manager.
Responsibilities: - Hands on leadership of the national operations teams
- Ensure customers receive exceptional service through close management and ongoing improvement to operations and company procedures
- Staff leadership and human resources - management, support, training, staff reviews and disciplinary procedures
- Active involvement in health & safety - ensuring processes and policies are kept updated and followed by all employees
- All senior management administrative requirements
- Improving process & implementing new procedures - including championing IT & CRM systems
About you: - You are a proven operations management professional with experience managing hire or fleet vehicles - being either heavy hire / machinery / trucks or cars
- You are willing to travel nationally on occasion (approximately once per month) to provide training at branch level
- Your background demonstrates achievements which have resulted in ongoing growth and significant operational improvements for your employers to date
- You are keen to secure a senior role, reporting in to the GM & sitting with the SLT team
- You are a passionate advocate for health and safety - ensuring compliance and a commitment to a workplace culture of zero harm
- Strong administrative/computer skills are essential
