About the role and the business

Flexographic Printer opportunity in a growing business and printing department. The role would suit a fully qualified Flexographic Printer with experience in wide web printing preferably with experience printing on both film and paper substrates.  Based in Mt Wellington, Auckland the role is for a rotating 12 hr day and night shift with opportunity for overtime.  

The company is well established and employs extrusion, modern high speed printing and slitting assets in the supply of customised packaging solutions to the food, medical and industrial market.  The manufacturing facility is accredited to ISO9001, FSC and food safety FSSC22000 standards.  

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Operating an 8 colour and 10 colour Flexographic printing press - Water Base and Solvent Base.
• Plate Mounting.
• Colour matching and ink adjustments.
• Manage your shift to meet KPI targets.
• Follow daily press schedule; ensure that all required paperwork is complete and accurate;
• Colors and registration per specifications within tolerance;
• Conscious of waste through operation (time and material);
• Output meets customer specification;
• Manage all aspects of press performance including productivity, quality, housekeeping and basic maintenance. 

Skills and experience

• Computer literate
• Ability to work well within a small printing team, which is part of a larger production team
• Experience working within a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment
• Strong focus on health and safety work practices
• Positive attitude and solid work ethic
• Good problem solving and initiative skills
• Strong focus on quality and attention to detail, taking pride in your work
• Flexible attitude and ability to do overtime when required
