Job Description - Float Legal Secretary

Our client is a well-known legal firm and urgently looking for a Float Legal secretary to assist them for the next 3 months.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive support across various departments, stepping in wherever needed to ensure seamless operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled legal secretary looking to showcase their versatility and expertise in a vibrant legal setting.

What you will be doing:
  • Provide high-quality secretarial support to different legal teams on a rotating basis
  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and organize travel arrangements
  • Prepare, edit, and format legal documents and correspondence
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls and emails
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical filing systems
  • Assist with billing processes and time entry
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal staff in a professional manner
  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant information as required
  • Perform other administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the office
What we are looking for:
  • Proven experience as a legal secretary in New Zealand
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
