United Flower Growers (UFG) is New Zealand’s largest flower broker, but we’re more than just a wholesaler. We’ve created a virtual trading floor connecting florists with growers, and we’re constantly evolving. Over the past 12 months, we’ve modernized our operations and are preparing for the next stage of our growth. We need a motivated, hands-on, and commercially astute team player to join us as a Flower Trader in our Dunedin branch.

What you’ll do:

As a B2B Flower Trader, you’ll be overseeing the Dunedin branch developing strong relationships with florists and growers. You’ll drive sales, understand and be tech savvy. Variety will be key in this role, as you engage with buyers and deliver exceptional customer service. Specifically, you will:

• Procure product direct from growers and purchase the balance using our live cloud auction platform.
• Merchandise your wholesale store.
• Build trusting relationships with florists that convert into sales.
• Mentor and support team members and create a positive work environment.
• Share information with line manager and support marketing activities.
• Ensure the Dunedin branch runs smoothly and efficiently.

What you bring:

• Commercial experience and leadership
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to foster strong client relationships.
• Able to use tech to improve efficiency.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Floral industry experience is a plus.
