About Us – Christchurch City Mission
The Christchurch City Mission (Te Whare Mīhana Ki Ōtautahi) helps anyone in need, no matter their situation. We work with people going through tough times—whether it’s because of job loss, housing issues, addiction, family problems, or financial stress.
We respond to both immediate crises and long-term challenges. Our services aim to help people gain the confidence and skills to live independently and feel proud of themselves. We've seen lives change with our support and believe everyone deserves a second chance.
What This Role Is About
As our Fundraising Manager, you’ll be at the heart of helping the Mission make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll lead our fundraising, marketing, and communications team, and will personally be responsible for Gifts in Wills and High-Value donor relationships, helping to secure the long-term support we need to continue our vital work.
You’ll create meaningful connections with all supporters, develop innovative fundraising campaigns, and uncover new opportunities to grow our donor base, including new relationships with non-traditional donors. You will lead a small, passionate team, and you will work closely with the City Missioner to ensure every initiative aligns with our strategic goals and reflects the Mission’s values.
You will ensure that your staff maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor database in association with our Fund Raiser One expert. Everything you do in this role will have a direct impact on vulnerable people in our community—helping them through immediate crises, supporting long-term change, and giving them hope for a brighter future.
This is a permanent full-time position, and is office based. This is a 40 hour a week role, and the days and hours of work are Monday to Friday, worked between 8am and 5pm.
About You - What You Bring
