What This Role Is About

This is a permanent role. Monday – Friday, 8.00am-4.00pm

The City Mission’s truck driver / removalist plays a key logistical role in our diverse and busy organisation.  You’ll be responsible for all pickups and deliveries for our Social Enterprises including our network of Opportunity Shops, across the city and surrounding areas.  You’ll plan your routes each day and will deliver exceptional care and customer service to both our valued donors of items, and our wonderful clients.

About You – What You’ll Bring

We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and experience:

• Good health, fitness and strength - this is a physical role that will require lifting of sometimes heavy furniture and/or bulky objects


• Demonstrated ability to organise work and priorities, communicating appropriately with the various parties involved


• A clean, full driver’s licence is required, with Class 2 endorsements preferable


• Great communication and people skills


• Knowledge of Canterbury’s social services


• Strong understanding of social justice, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and relevant laws


• Ability to manage time well, stay calm under pressure, and make good decisions


• Commitment to respectful, inclusive, and ethical practice


• IT confident and able to manage reporting and systems


• Comfortable working in a values-led, Christian-based organisation
