The role

As a General Practitioner you'll be empowered to make a lasting impact on the health and wellness of Pasifika families. Embrace a holistic approach that prioritises family-centered care within a culturally responsive service.

Join our extended care team dedicated to providing comprehensive support to whānau/aiga/families, addressing all facets of wellbeing, from ensuring healthy homes to facilitating access to education, employment, and quality healthcare.

We're seeking individuals who are not only qualified medical practitioners but also passionate about serving our communities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Pasifika cultures and values, alongside a commitment to upholding Pacific Island values, culture and language.

The ideal person

We are looking for an experienced and confident General Practitioner to play a pivotal role at K’aute Pasifika. You will be passionate, empathetic and driven by improving health outcomes for Pasifika.

Working across a diverse ethnic group, you will be confident in interacting across Pacific cultural frameworks and sensitive to the needs of those communities.

Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery
  • Current registration as a GP in New Zealand
  • Minimum of 3 years as a practicing GP
  • Proven ability to work in diverse ethnic communities, especially Māori and Pasifika
  • Excellent time management and collaborative work style
  • Empathetic, approachable, and strong communicator
  • Knowledge of social services and issues affecting Pacific Island people is essential.
