Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re on the lookout for a skilled and safety-conscious Electrical Technician. This role is all about keeping our geothermal plant humming — you’ll be hands-on with the operation, maintenance, and isolation of plant and apparatus, ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Whether it’s responding to real-time needs from our Dispatch Traders or stepping up in emergency situations, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the lights on for Aotearoa.

You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that values collaboration, integrity, and a can-do attitude. Every day will bring something different — from troubleshooting complex issues to carrying out preventative maintenance, you’ll be using your skills to make a real impact. And with our strong focus on safety (Target Zero Harm), you can be confident that your wellbeing is our top priority.

Ko wai koe | About you

You might be a seasoned tradie with a background in power generation or heavy industry, or maybe you’re an experienced operator looking to take the next step. Either way, if you’re practical, safety-minded, and love solving problems, we’d love to kōrero.

Here’s what we’re ideally looking for:

• A Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification (especially in electrical engineering — NZ registration is a bonus)
• Solid experience in plant operation or maintenance, ideally in a power generation or industrial setting
• A knack for diagnosing and fixing issues — you’re someone who sees beyond the obvious
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit — you work well with others and build trust easily
• Familiarity with systematic maintenance strategies and condition monitoring is a plus
