The Gifts in Wills team is pleased to offer an opportunity for a skilled and confident fundraiser with a strong ability to collaborate, manage multiple tasks, and build meaningful relationships. We are seeking an individual who is adept at engaging with people and demonstrates a deep empathy toward donors, ensuring their needs and wishes are respected and understood. In this role, you will work closely with dedicated Hato Hone St John supporters to advance and expand our national Gifts in Wills program in the South Island. This position reports to the National Gifts in Wills Lead and is based in Christchurch. 

  • Responsible for the conversion of bequest prospects
  • Validates bequest pledges by thanking them and enhancing their donor journey
  • Nurtures and inspires donors through relationship management and other donor stewardship activities
  • Supports the implementation of the strategy, communications plan, supporter event, and contributes constructively to general fundraising planning and donor stewardship, always maintaining a donor-first mindset
  • Completes all reporting, pipeline list, and database management requirements in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all donor and prospect records are always up to date
  • Promotes the Gifts in Wills programme when required, in communities through relevant speaking engagements at retirement villages, service clubs, and community organisations
  • Contributes to the development of the programme information materials

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience and success in Bequests Fundraising and Previous experience in Bequests Fundraising and/or generalist Fundraising with the ability and experience to manage concurrent appeals and campaigns would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding and proven experience of fundraising principles and donor stewardship
  • High level of customer focus and a professional attitude, as well as the commitment/ability to maintain the absolute confidentiality of information
  • An effective team collaborator who is flexible, adaptable, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, able to work autonomously, and willing to assist other staff members
  • Experience in CRM Database systems and knowledge of their operation is highly desirable
