Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB’s offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Area in Napier, New Zealand

You will be mainly accountable for:

•Working closely with the Product Owner and planning the roadmap to create maximum value and follow-up of offering portfolio performance, contributing to development of new portfolios by leading customer need and value analysis.
•Defining value proposition per segment and channel and ensuring clear communication to channels and users.
•Owning the technical and market specification for the offering and determination of a business plan that supports sustainable growth.
•Prioritizing new offering development projects with responsibility for achievement of targets and coordinating cross-functional teams.
•Initiating and driving product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation.
•Monitoring global sales target fulfilment and tender volumes and acting as appropriate and leading life cycle management process.
•Being responsible for offering profitability and margin and for salesperson and/or local sales organization product technical trainings.
•Driving the annual / quarterly business planning process.

This position reports to Chapter Leader Product Management

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum bachelor’s degree of engineering ideally in electrical engineering, MBA preferred with minimum 10 years in strategic marketing or similar role in industry.
• Previous experience working in an Agile environment and in electric (High, Medium Low Voltage Products and Systems) and Automation industry (preferred)
• Previous experience in UPS industry
• Understanding of mission critical segments: Data Center, Infrastructure, Utility. Strong technical acumen, experience influence key customers, and partners
• Experience in leading in matrix organization. Ability to influence the organization on the strategic direction of the business, and drive tangible and concrete actions to ensure progress.
• Strong executive level presentation and communications skills and superior business acumen and analytical skills & global mindset
• Good communication skills in English
