Job Description - GM Operations

About the role:

Reporting to the CEO, and leading the Operations team, the GM Operations is responsible for the delivery of effective operational activities and supporting the organisation in its ongoing development as a Maaori health provider.

In this role, you will provide leadership and direction across frontline service delivery with a focus on property maintenance, office systems, administration support and finance management activities.
 

Areas of responsibility for this role include:

  • Lead, align and motivate an effective team to achieve targets, customer service levels and business objectives.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to Management on the function's activities and performance.
  • Lead any acquisition of any assets, including vehicles and property, and managing the negotiation of leases or contracts, on behalf of the CEO.
  • Develop and implement management policies, frameworks, and systems in relation to finance, operational and risk management.
  • Ensure all properties and systems are compliant with H&S regulations and requirements.
  • Manage operational costs and budgets to ensure ongoing value.

 

To be considered for this role ideally you will need to have:

  • Relevant working experience in a similar role, at a senior management level
  • Experience managing multiple projects and driven to achieve results
  • Strong financial business/commercial acumen and strong communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in leading/developing of contract procurement projects or delivery functions including negotiations and a sound understanding of Board reporting requirements and governance is desired
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Familiarity of Te Reo Maaori and Tikanga Maaori is an advantage.
