Our expertise spans 17 disciplines, including Geotechnical Engineering, Civil, Structural, Building Services, Architecture, Environmental, and Project Management, providing seamless, coordinated delivery across project lifecycles.
We’re looking for a Graduate to Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer (2–3 years’ experience) to join our Auckland office. This role offers excellent exposure to meaningful, site-focused projects and a chance to grow your capability within a collaborative, supportive practice.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in the delivery of geotechnical projects from planning through to on-site completion - applying your technical expertise to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise geotechnical investigations on-site.
Field and office work support, which will include but not be limited to carrying out desktop studies, fieldwork and geotechnical testing in accordance with established procedures, hand auguring and logging soil, in situ testing of soil using hand held equipment, supervising drill rigs and logging recovered core, carrying out fill and subgrade testing, etc.
Prepare site investigation and geotechnical reports.
Manage and analyse laboratory testing results and interpret findings for on-site applications.
Contribute to practical, innovative design solutions for a variety of ground conditions.
Prepare design documentation and construction or contract deliverables.
Oversee QA for earthworks and construction monitoring on-site, liaising effectively with clients, contractors, and regulators.
Manage assigned projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and professional quality.
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (BE or BSc (Eng)).
2–3+ years’ practical experience in geotechnical investigations and site supervision.
Strong technical and practical grounding in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering, with a solid understanding of Geology.
Hands-on experience in geotechnical investigations, geological mapping, data interpretation, and fieldwork.
Sound understanding of geotechnical design and construction practices.
Proficiency in computer-based design and analysis tools.
