The Kootenay Co-op is looking for a Grocery/Bulk Floor Lead to join our fast moving Grocery Team.
SKILLS
The Grocery Floor Lead must have and continue to develop knowledge and skills in the following areas:
• Excellent customer service, both internal and external
• Advanced knowledge of warehouse, bulk and grocery department operations, systems, and procedures
• Knowledge of warehouse equipment and machinery including forklift, pallet jack and load lift operation
• Ability to direct and lead others
• Time management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Positive attitude with a commitment towards active contribution to a positive work environment
• Knowledge of natural foods and grocery products
• Safe operation of warehouse equipment and machinery
• Fluency in SMS and MS Office suite
• Excellent knowledge of all safety protocol
• Excellent attention to detail and impeccable accuracy
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work consistently at a fast pace
• Great problem solving and troubleshooting skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure grocery and Bulk department is adequately stocked, rotated, fronted, faced and cleaned at all times
• Prioritise daily stocking tasks for grocery clerks as directed by and/or in support of department management
• Direct clerks with duties and tasks throughout the day as directed by and/or in support of Assistant Manager
• Liaise with receivers, management and buyers regarding daily deliveries and any relevant issues which arise
• Oversee inventory management with the support of all receivers
• Ensure negative inventory counts and daily out of stock counts are being performed
• Overall responsibility for coordinating the flow of inventory through the in-store warehouse
• Assist in the upkeep and organization of the warehouse backstock area, be familiar with all product storage areas
• Check and maintain accurate signage on the sales floor
• Communicate any issues with product shortages or overages to buyers and any inventory issues to the inventory specialist
• Communicate timely information to Grocery department management and staff
• Provide clerks with initial and ongoing training as required as well as feedback to management on clerk performance
• Create and maintain sales displays
• Monitor temperatures of walk-in cooler and freezer
• Monitor perishables and expiration dates on products and take pro-active measures to avoid loss
• Comply with Staff Guidelines and Expectations
• Be able to be flexible with scheduling as required for vacation coverages, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
