Group Accounting & Tax Manager

We're recruiting for an experienced Group Accounting & Tax Manager to step into a key finance leadership role. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on driving improvements in processes and controls and understands the importance of bringing others along for the journey.

Key Responsibilities

This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial reporting. You’ll lead a small but capable AP/AR team and oversee a range of core finance functions, including:

• Lead the month-end close process and timetable, delivering accurate and timely completion of financial controls


• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations


• Key contact for tax matters across the Group, including multi-jurisdictional tax calculations and returns


• Review and ensure accurate submission of tax filings across the Group


• Manage the tax fixed asset registers and provide input for year-end tax calculations and financial statement notes


• Assist with transfer pricing, management fee charges, and dividend declarations


• Lead and support external tax audits


• Oversee interim and year-end financial audits and liaise directly with auditors


• Support cashflow forecasting and day-to-day treasury activities


• Assist with foreign exchange activities across the Group


• Continuously improve internal controls, processes and reporting quality

Key Skills & Experience

• CA/CPA or equivalent


• Understanding of NZ tax and accounting standards (GAAP)


• Strong technical expertise in financial accounting and tax


• Proven ability to lead and develop a team


• A natural influencer who engages stakeholders with clear, pragmatic communication about compliance and financial controls


• Demonstrated ability to simplify and improve accounting processes and internal controls
