The Role

We’re looking for a Group Import & Export Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Group Warehouse & Logistics Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating all import and export activities across Walter & Wild.
This is a key operational role, working closely with our internal Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Sales, and Commercial teams, as well as a wide range of external partners. It suits an experienced logistics or inventory professional who enjoys ownership, problem solving, and keeping complex freight movements running smoothly in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the effective coordination and execution of all import and export activities, ensuring service, compliance, and cost expectations are met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage end‑to‑end import and export operations, ensuring compliant, timely, and cost‑effective movement of goods across international supply chains


• Coordinate freight movements and documentation, working closely with freight partners, brokers, MPI, NZ Customs, and our internal teams


• Maintain accurate shipping, inventory, and export documentation in line with regulatory requirements


• Track and monitor shipments, providing clear status updates and responding promptly to customer and stakeholder queries


• Manage shipping costs, invoicing, and reconciliations, including demurrage and MPI related charges
  

About You

You’re an experienced logistics or inventory professional who is organised, dependable, and confident coordinating complex activities across multiple stakeholders. You stay composed under pressure, adapt quickly to change, and take pride in delivering accurate and compliant outcomes.

You will bring:

• 4+ years’ experience in export operations or international logistics, with strong knowledge of export documentation, shipping processes, Incoterms, and trade compliance


• A tertiary background in business or supply chain (advantageous)


• Hands‑on experience working with freight forwarders, 3PLs, shipping agents, customs brokers, and a sound understanding of MPI and Transitional Facility requirements


• Advanced MS Excel skills, proficiency in Logistics or ERP systems


• High attention to detail, strong analytical and organisational skills


• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships


• An agile, adaptable mindset, comfortable working at pace in a dynamic environment
