Job Description - Group Living Coordinator

Group Living Coordinator - Full time role 


 


Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services. 


 


Comcare Housing Service Delivery provides a range of housing-related assistance for those experiencing mental illness and/or addiction issuesWe are seeking a Group Living Coordinator to join our team. Our Group Living houses are supported independent tenancies, with Group Living coordinators visiting homes to coordinate supports. 


 


The Group Living Coordinator works with the client/tenant, and their whānau, to assess their needs, and develop plans to uplift and empower them to live independent lives in a shared living environment and co-ordinate appropriate services.  


 


Delivering specialist support to clients in shared tenancies, the Group Living Coordinator assists people to live well together, live an independent and enriched life and manage the day-to-day practicalities of shared living arrangements.  


 


The successful applicant will    



  • have the ability to develop sound supportive relationships with others,  



  • be able to empower people to live independently with confidence, 



  • be well-organised, and empathetic, 



  • have a positive outlook and a passion to uplift others 



  • be able to work in a team and independently, and 



  • be thoughtful and clear about the limits of the role.  


 


You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 


 


It is desirable that you have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 - Mental Health and Addiction Support (or equivalent qualification) or are committed to studying towards one. 


 


Experience in the mental health and disability sector would be an advantage.
