About the Role

Located in the heart of the CBD, you will support the Venue Manager in the day-to-day running of Events, with a particular focus on Guest Services & IT Support. Our events delivery business is diverse and tailored to our clients – from corporate training to planning days, team-building events, exams, and corporate cocktail parties. This is a role that is responsible for multiple parts of our event delivery, so it’s important that you can prioritise immediate tasks and still plan! Our Wellington team are a tight knit crew who are hands-on, support each other and collaborate effectively to deliver remarkable events. This key position is predominately business hours and requires flexibility for occasional weekend and evening service depending on the needs of the business. This is a hands-on role with a level of supervision of the Back of House team, assisting with room sets each day.

On a day-to-day level, you will: 

  • Manage a high-volume front desk for multiple clients each day
  • Meet & greet clients every morning, ensuring they have everything they need for their event and actioning any additional requests.
  • Actively support the casual F & B team with daily catering services
  • Assist with general guest services and requests
  • Help clients with general IT & AV questions
  • Setting up and delivering the events that have an AV component (eg. videoconferencing, laptop set up)
  • Ensure the client break-out areas and rooms are well-presented from the start and throughout the day.
  • Update event details, input client data and process invoices accurately using our CRM

About You

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Ideally, you'll have previous experience in either hospitality, catering, events, hotels or client services and are tech-savvy.

In addition, in this role you will:

  • Possess excellent client service and organisational skills
  • Tech-savviness and willingness to learn more about event technologies
  • Be flexible and able to work effectively in a constantly changing environment
  • ‘Hands-on’ practitioner who is happy to work with the team to get the job done
  • Experience of event health & safety requirements would be advantageous.
  • Be proactive with solution focused problem-solving abilities
  • Have a minimum intermediate skill level of MS Office experience
  • Remain calm and think on your feet while under pressure
