About the role

Centrally located in the heart of Christchurch, luxury Fable Christchurch Hotel is looking for a Handyperson experienced in Painting to join our Repair and Maintenance team on a fixed-term basis. 

This role is perfect for you if you have great handyman and painting skills as well as great communication and problem solving skills. 

Key responsibilities

• Handle routine maintenance issues
• Maintain the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings
• Communicate with hotel departments regarding maintenance needs and action accordingly
• Be responsible for reporting hazards, incidents, and ensuring your actions do not put others at risk. 
• Assist with other duties as directed by Maintenance Manager

Requirements for this role include

• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or customer service environment
• Relevant trade certificates 
• General handyman, plaster, plumbing, and painting skills
• Sound knowledge of health & safety in relation to your role
• Self-motivation and discipline, someone with passion for getting the job done to a high quality
• The ability to work without supervision
• Strong problem solving skills
• Well groomed, personable and friendly
• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• Energetic and honest personality
