Job Description - Head Companion Animal Nurse

Job Title: Head Companion Animal Nurse – Full-Time



Location: Whangamata, in the Coromandel

The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Companion Animal Nurse.



In this leadership role, you will:



  • Oversee and support a team of three nurses, ensuring top-quality patient care.

  • Collaborate closely with four vets, a reception team, and a practice manager to maintain our high standards.

  • Help to drive operational excellence in our clinical services to our patients and clients.

  • Empower your team with guidance and support, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care.



Ideal Candidate:



  • Holds a recognised nursing qualification.

  • Has a minimum of three years of nursing experience, preferably with leadership exposure, or demonstrated leadership experience in another field.

  • Has knowledge and skill in:

    • anaesthesia monitoring with multi-parameter equipment, including capnography

    • intraoral (dental radiography) and dental prophylaxis

    • surgical nursing, including orthopaedic procedures



  • Demonstrates strong communication, time management and organisational skills.

  • Is committed to excellence and ready to uphold and enhance our service standards.



Compensation:



  • The pay range for this role is $36-$40 per hour, reflecting both leadership responsibilities and our commitment to paying our team members well.
