This role is responsible for leading and championing all aspects of a 'Design Culture' at Serko, including strategy, execution, and functional competency within our organisation. You'll have an impact, playing a pivotal role in driving innovation, enhancing user and service experiences, and ensuring design excellence across all our products and services.

What you'll get to do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Design at Serko that aligns with the company's overall strategic objectives and business goals

• Continuously uplift the maturity and effectiveness of the Design function through strategic design leadership, vision and cross-functional innovation
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of design and research professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and data-driven decision-making to execute Serko’s design vision
• Foster innovation in design practices and methodologies to maintain and enhance Serko’s competitive advantage
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders and teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to help translate business requirements into compelling experiences for Serko’s customers and users
• Define the end-to-end design process, from concept development and prototyping to user testing and final implementation
• Champion user-centred design principles and design-thinking across the organization, and advocate for the needs of our end-users and customers throughout the product development lifecycle
• Own Serko’s design standards, guidelines, and frameworks to ensure consistency and coherence across all our products and platforms, integrating data insights and experimentation into the design process.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience in a design leadership role, with a proven track record of delivering innovative design solutions for digital products and platforms, emphasizing data-driven decision-making and rapid experimentation
• Strong strategic and analytical skills, highly data and evidence drove, with the ability to translate business goals into design objectives
• A deep understanding of user-centred design principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a track record of leveraging data and experimentation to inform design decisions and drive business outcomes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and motivating teams, and fostering design-led collaboration across departments
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail, with experience working in an agile development environment and integrating research and data insights into the design process.
