Job Description - Head of HR, New Zealand

The Head of HR is responsible for leading and managing HR within Red Bull New Zealand by providing professional strategic and tactical services that are aligned with the Regional and Global HR Strategy.  The role forms part of the Leadership Team and will use insight and expertise to advise, influence and execute both the business and people objectives including identifying and executing strategic initiatives that will enable business performance i.e. talent management, engagement and performance.  You will ensure that all HR requirements are met and understand the business beyond the HR function to ensure superior operations and business outcomes.

  • You will be an integral member of the management team, working towards achieving and exceeding business targets. You will advise on all people related plans, impact and change. You will influence key stakeholders to ensure employee and business needs are managed and exceeded. You will provide insight and analyses on people related measures to guide and develop key people focus areas for the management team.

  • You will drive the talent management agenda in conjunction with managers. You will coach, mentor and develop people managers on leading talent to ensure retention and development of individuals, including bench strength. You will lead the annual objective setting and review process, supporting managers where required. You will support and implement global training initiatives and training tools. You will partner with People Managers to source quality training and development solutions based on needs assessment that is in line with the global training and development philosophy (strengths-based). You will support Red Bull's Engagement philosophy through the management and delivery of the annual engagement survey and post-survey actions, including team action plans.

  • You will manage the annual salary and benefits review and administration process. You will pro-actively provide information and insights on market data to support talent attraction and retention. You will manage all relevant benefits and rewards programs including reviewing market trends and implementing new initiatives when required. You will oversee Payroll ensuring requirements are met including monthly payroll, audit and compliance.

  • You will lead a first-class recruitment and selection process experience for both Candidates and Hiring Managers. This will include proactively identifying and utilising current, effective methods of attracting talent, partnering with the hiring manager to ensure that an accurate brief is understood, ensuring targeted and quality recruitment, you will utilize market relevant sourcing channels to ensure favourable outcome to cost, quality and time. You will conduct professional performance/Strengths Based interview utilizing Case Studies, Candidate testing, Reference Checking and, where necessary, Background screening.

  • You will be up to date on employment legislation and ensure that our HR polices are current and communicated in a timely manner. When required, you will ensure the proper legal advice is obtained and that all local legal requirements are being applied in office HR related documents and procedures.

  • You will be the Health & Safety expert, taking the lead on all employee-related Health and Safety matters. You will ensure Red Bull New Zealand maintains an effective, modern H&SMS. Working with the Leadership team, you will create a culture that allows all employees and other workers to use their skills and knowledge to take personal ownership for Health and Safety in the workplace.

    You will take the lead on all incident reporting, ensuring proper and accurate reporting, recording, investigation and follow up, and the welfare of people involve.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • You will have a minimum of 5 years HR generalist/business partner experience, preferably within a matrix environment and, ideally, working closely with senior leaders including a General Manager.
  • You can demonstrate proven success in executing HR strategy at a national level, and in developing local HR strategy in line with the national business plan priorities.
  • You will have previous experience in project and change management both influencing the change and implementing initiatives.
  • You must have experience working with HR Information Systems (e.g. SAP HR, Taleo).
  • Team management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in identifying and analysing HR and business data to recommend HR initiatives that will drive business objectives will be an advantage.
  • You are able to work under pressure, multi-task and coordinate, with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • You have excellent communication skills (written and oral), including presentation and training skills.
  • You are a team player who is cooperative with sharing of information and knowledge.
  • Travel 10-20%
