Head Teacher (Preschool)

The Role:
We are looking for a Head Teacher to oversee our two preschool rooms at Bear Park Henderson. Working primarily in our 3-4 year old room, you will be part of an immediate team of four teachers with 25 3-4 year olds. You will also be responsible for overseeing our 4-5 year old room which has three teachers and 24 children. 

As our Head Teacher, you will be responsible for driving the engagement, and overall success of our teachers, the delight in our children, and the strength in our whanau relationships. With three hours dedicated group planning time per week, plus additional non-contact time for your leadership responsibilities, this is a great opportunity to grow your skillset. Our experienced Centre Director spends a lot of her time on the floor working alongside teachers and is a fabulous mentor and support for all of our teaching team.

Our centre has a spacious and natural outdoor environment, offering space for children to be at one with nature. We encourage them to collaborate with staff and each other in our secret garden spaces and shared areas. We are passionate about developing an awareness of how to care for our environment, to support our children to be the Kaitiakitanga (guardians) of the natural world and have a strong focus on sustainability.
