About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to play a key role in shaping and strengthening our safety culture. This position is responsible for continuously improving health and safety systems, ensuring compliance, and partnering with operational teams to prevent harm, reduce risk, and drive exceptional safety performance. This role is based at the Wellington branch with frequent travel within the Lower North Island.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Champion a proactive and positive safety culture across all branches and operations


• Provide expert health and safety guidance and support to leaders and teams


• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and relevant standards (ISO 45001 / AS/NZS 4801)


• Identify, assess, and effectively manage critical risks


• Support incident and injury management, including ICAM investigations and the implementation of corrective actions


• Deliver engaging health and safety training and foster active worker participation through committees and HSRs


• Analyse incident trends and develop targeted prevention initiatives

About You

You are a qualified Health & Safety professional with 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role, bringing strong communication skills and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You take a practical, solutions-focused approach to your work and are confident operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. With ICAM investigation training and solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, you are committed to continuous learning and improvement. You also hold a current, full NZ driver’s licence and are willing to travel nationally as required.
