About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
The purpose of the Health Care Assistant role is to deliver high quality care to residents based on their individual care plan, demonstrating a commitment to best practice and maintaining an optimal level of dignity, comfort and quality of life for residents.

Duties | Mahi
Deliver personal care with compassion – Assist residents with daily needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following individual care plans.
Support resident wellbeing – Help ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, respond to call bells promptly, and assist with meals and hydration.
Maintain accurate documentation – Record progress notes each shift and report changes in residents’ conditions to the RN or Care Manager.
Communicate with empathy and respect – Interact positively with residents, their whānau, and health professionals, showing cultural sensitivity and care.
Priorities health, safety, and hygiene – Follow infection control procedures, report hazards or incidents, and support a safe working environment for all.
Commit to growth and professionalism – Attend training sessions, complete required competencies, and take part in performance appraisals.
Skills & Experience | Pukenga & wheako
New Zealand Citizen or have a Resident Visa (Preferred)
Minimum Level 4 or 5 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing NZQA
Aged care experience within the last 12 Months as minimum for relevant work experience
A current full driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Be available to work full time hours and all 3 shifts
Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
A current first aid certificate
We Offer
Rostered shifts across weekdays and weekends to support our 24/7 care service. Shifts may fall between: 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm & 11pm -7am.
Permanent Full time work, 37.5 Hours. Minimum 30 Hours
A starting rate of $28 to $32 a hour
