Job Description - Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

This is a permanent position at Westpac NZ, based at Britomart!  

 

We are looking for a Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor who is eager to join the Banking sector and make a positive impact supporting the wellbeing of the Westpac NZ employees You will be part of a passionate HSW team committed to creating a safer, healthier and more connected workplaces. The HSW team sits within our wider People and Communications business unit, a team which is proud of their employee engagement scores! 

 

As our Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor you will work closely with two of our HSW Senior Managers supporting our strategic and operational goals and will provide support to employees, leaders and H&SW representatives.  You will be running the day to day operations of the team, and ensuring overall the HSW function is operating effectively.  This role will suit an experienced HSW professional that has experience with a keen interest in continuous improvement and team collaboration.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing, ideally across multisite or complex environments 

  • Background in financial services or other regulated industries 

  • Strong understanding of New Zealand H&S legislation and regulatory requirements 

  • Structured, detail-driven professional with strong administrative capability supporting effective health, safety and wellbeing outcomes.  

  • Skilled in turning data insights into practical safety improvements  

  • Confident coaching and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels 

  • Experience managing work related injuries under the ACC Accredited Employer Programme 

  •  A proactive approach to safety culture, grounded in continuous improvement. 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HSW or a related field (desirable)
