Heavy Diesel Technician

MIMICO is a New Zealand owned family business established in 1989 as an indent parts supplier based in Matamata, and is the New Zealand distributor for a wide range of quality, world class modern heavy machinery. MIMICO sells, hires and services heavy machinery for the quarrying, mining, contracting, construction, recycling and forestry industries.

We’re on the hunt for a Heavy Diesel Technician who knows their diesel gear inside out. You’ll be the go-to person for keeping a range of cranes and heavy machinery running, from diesel engines to hydraulics and electrical systems.  If you take pride in top-quality work, love getting stuck into tricky problems, and can mentor younger techs along the way, you’ll fit right in. What You’ll Be Doing;

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshooting and fixing mechanical and system faults using diagnostic tools.
• Keeping customers happy with reliable, honest service.

About you:

• A trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, 5+ years of hands-on diesel engine repair and maintenance, ideally in a field service role
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and software.
• Valid Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2/WTR/F endorsements are a bonus).
• Practical, can-do attitude and the ability to work solo or as part of a team.
• Ability to handle physical tasks in various environments and weather conditions.
