MIMICO sells, hires and services heavy machinery for the quarrying, mining, contracting, construction, recycling and forestry industries.

Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping heavy machinery and diesel-powered vehicles performing at their best.  You’ll work across a range of construction equipment, including cranes and Astra trucks, with a primary focus on servicing and repairing Case Construction equipment, ASV Loaders, Dynapac rollers and a variety of other equipment as required. As the trusted expert, you’ll diagnose issues and deliver efficient, high-quality repairs.

What you will do:

  • Work on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems with precision and expertise.
  • Conduct inspections and services to keep equipment in top shape.
  • Support the development of apprentices through training, mentoring
  • Build lasting relationships by explaining repairs, providing recommendations, and delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, someone who takes pride in hands-on work and solving complex mechanical challenges. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, practical environment.

  • Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong, hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex faults across diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components using advanced diagnostic tools and software
  • Full Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 WTRF an advantage
