We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to join our hotel operations team.



About the Role


This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who takes pride in maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager and Hotel Manager, you will support the day-to-day housekeeping operation, supervise Room Attendants, and help ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest satisfaction.


You will lead by example, providing coaching, training and support to the housekeeping team while ensuring health and safety requirements and hotel standards are consistently met.



Key Responsibilities


Housekeeping Operations



  • Supervise and support Room Attendants in their daily duties.

  • Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, presentation and hotel standards are consistently achieved.

  • Ensure rooms are guest-ready, defect-free and presented to a high standard at all times.

  • Assist with bed making, linen changes, replenishing guest amenities and room servicing when required.

  • Monitor and maintain housekeeping supplies, trolleys and equipment.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues, damages and safety concerns promptly.

  • Manage lost property processes in accordance with company procedures.

  • Respond professionally to guest requests, concerns and special requirements.



Team Leadership



  • Provide training, coaching and support to Room Attendants.

  • Assist with onboarding and induction programmes for new team members.

  • Ensure team members understand and follow housekeeping procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.

  • Lead by example and foster a positive, collaborative team culture.



Operational Support



  • Support public area cleaning, deep cleaning programmes and laundry operations as required.

  • Assist other departments during busy periods when needed.

  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel.



Health & Safety



  • Promote and maintain safe work practices at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and company policies.

  • Monitor safe chemical handling and manual handling procedures.

  • Report hazards, incidents, accidents and security issues promptly.

  • Act as the designated Fire Warden when required.

  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.



About You


To succeed in this role, you will have:



Experience & Qualifications



  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably within a hotel or accommodation environment.

  • Experience leading or supervising a team is highly desirable.

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

  • First Aid Certificate (advantageous but not essential).
