Enable New Zealand is a Crown-owned entity on a mission; to support disabled people and their whānau to live everyday lives in their communities. We do this by effectively managing access to equipment, modifications and information services for disabled people and their whānau on behalf of Disability Support Services (DSS) – Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).


 


With our head office centrally located in Palmerston North, we deliver services to thousands of New Zealanders each year as Aotearoa's largest disability equipment provider. 


 


Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role


We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our Housing team. The Housing Advisor plays a vital part in the planning, oversight, and quality assurance of housing modifications designed to meet the diverse needs of disabled New Zealanders.


 


You will bring both technical knowledge and a strong sense of quality control, and have the skills to confidently assess, advise, and challenge where necessary—ensuring all housing modifications are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective.


  


Ngā mahi haepapa | Role responsibilities



  • Providing expert building-related advice to assessors, consultants, and contractors.

  • Developing and overseeing quality assurance processes for building work.

  • Monitoring the performance, timeliness, and standards of contractors and consultants.

  • Conducting audits and follow-ups to ensure all modifications meet compliance, safety, and functional requirements.

  • Supporting internal teams with technical and regulatory knowledge on housing projects.

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and service delivery.

This is a full-time, permanent (40 hours per week) role based in Palmerston North. The salary range for this position is $73,676 - $91,150.
