About us

Te Taumata is a leadership organisation established by and for Ngāti Whakaue, working across education, te reo Māori, housing development and social wellbeing.

Today, our work reaches hundreds of whānau, rangatahi, tamariki, and kōhungahunga through high-quality, whānau-centred programmes and services.

Relationships are just as central to the mahi: you'll build strong connections with MSD, Te Whatu Ora, Kāinga Ora, health and community partners, championing tikanga, whanaungatanga and manaakitanga in everything the team does.

What you'll bring

  • Proven leadership ideally in a frontline social services, housing, health or kaupapa Māori team
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent senior practice leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga and kaupapa Māori practice
  • Experience managing funded service delivery, reporting and contract obligations
  • Current professional registration relevant to social work, counselling, mental health, addiction or psychology would be an advantage
  • A current full NZ Driver Licence
  • Connection to Ngāti Whakaue would be a strength

Why join now

If you're ready to lead with mana, and want your leadership to mean something for your own community, we'd love to hear from you.
