Our Client

Is a leading civil engineering and construction company based in West Auckland. With over 50 years in the game, this family owned and operated powerhouse have played a hand in delivering some of New Zealand’s largest and most prestigious infrastructure projects. With a focus on Sustainability, Innovation and Excellence, they offer a busy, down to earth and family orientated environment.
  
This role would best suit a true generalist, looking to join the team on a 9-month maternity cover contract.  At between 25-32 hours per week, this role offers flexibility around workdays and start/finish times. The ideal set up for a parent returning to work, or perhaps someone looking for hours alongside their study (or ongoing side hustle).
  
The Role
  • Working alongside 130+ staff, this is a sole charge position where you will lend your hand to Recruitment, Learning and Development, Employment Relations, and all other policy and compliance admin
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their needs, draft job advertisements and support them with initial screening, interviewing and contracting of potential candidates
  • Manage the onboarding experience of all new employees ensuring a smooth transition into the company
  • Act as the main point of contact for office and field base staff in relation to all HR enquiries
  • Provide guidance and support to both employees and line managers on all ER matters including conflict resolution, performance management and disciplinaries
  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews, setting employee development plans and coaching through these processes Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate programs to move the needle on internal learning opportunities
About You
  • You will have a passion for the ER space, and will have gained some exposure to it in previous positions
  • Ideally you have had at least 12 months working as an HR Advisor, however we would also love to hear from any Snr HR Coordinators looking to take that next step up!
  • You have a knack for building relationships, whether that be with our office-based staff, or the frontline teams onsite
  • You’ll be up for anything, willing to learn and have exceptional relationship building skills
  • Flexible and adaptable – you’ll be able to juggle a number of priorities at one time!
  • Have a strong eye for detail and understand the importance of a top notch HRIS
