Job Description - HR Advisor

We are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do, not afraid to have the hard conversations and be able to navigate the political nature of a large organisation to influence stakeholders. You’ll provide support and guidance to ensure that our leaders are equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage people related matters while ensuring best practices and procedures comply with relevant legislation, company policies and processes.

 

In a ddition to the above you will:

Support the North Island HR Manager in the development and roll out of the HR strategy which includes identifying, implementing, and supporting a range of policies and programmes.

Contribute to the development of and audit compliance to HR policy, procedures, employment agreements and position descriptions.

Investigate and resolve general day to day employment ER/IR relations problems, disputes, or issues.

Support managers on how to handle specific situations including possible outcomes and implications to minimise negative employee relations activity.

Coordinate and administer the performance appraisal and salary review processes.

Provide advice and support on employment issues and application of HR policies and procedures including leave, remuneration, benefits, and performance management.

We’re looking for someone with:

A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, or related field.

A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a generalist HR role.

Experience in employment relations and a good understanding of employment legislation.

The ability to understand business issues and demonstrate a business focus.

Experience at resolving employment relations issues from disciplinary action through to mediation.

Proven experience developing and maintaining strong relationships and personal credibility with multiple stakeholders.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
