HR Coordinator - Urgent Hiring

Bargain Chemist burst into Kiwi Communities in 2018 and since then we have become a favourite destination for all healthcare needs. We have been offering free prescriptions on all government funded medication since our inception and will continue to do so for all our patients at each new store, thus consistently helping kiwis to save money.

Bargain Chemist are 100% Kiwi Owned and Operated and in 2024 are expanding into variety of locations to be closer to all Kiwis.

We are seeking a talented, fast paced HR Coordinator to join our head office team.

You will be based in our head office  in Burnside, Christchurch.

Duties will Include:  

• Running recruitment drives 
• Creating job adverts 
• Screening candidates.
• Organising interviews.
• Conducting interviews.
• Coordinating staff onboarding 
• Contract generation and preparing employment documentation. 
• Assisting with HR projects 
• Provide HR advice and support to over 500 employees
• Support, conduct and escalate employment relation issues. 
• Assisting with current internal recruitment drives. 
• Build a casual talent pool for each store.
• Ensuring all correct paperwork is returned, signed and complete and sent to payroll
• Assisting with and writing of company policies
• Assisting to build workplace culture.
• Ensure employee files are maintained and up to date.
• HR admin tasks as above and plenty more

To be successful you will :

• Proven employment history as a HR coordinator/manager, preferably 3+ years
• Strong understanding of NZ employment law and NZ Payroll legislation 
• Understand NZ Immigration requirements.
• Be able to juggle many different tasks during the day.
• Work well under pressure.
• Have fantastic computer skills - word, excel and ability to touch type. 
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
• To be well presented, honest and diligent 
• Have a high attention to detail.
• Hold the legal ability to work in New Zealand.

This role isn't for the faint hearted - it is go go go but the rewards at the end of the day are worth it. 

32 to 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday.
