Job Description - Human Resources Advisor

We are looking for a motivated Human Resources generalist to join us.  This role will be based in Palmerston North and will report into the Auckland based HR Manager. We are looking to support our local team with local knowledge!

About the role:  

As a Human Resources Advisor for J. A. Russell Ltd you will be supporting the local General Manager and Branch Managers with all HR needs including: 

  • Assisting in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for new employees. 
  • Assisting with performance management, including development of training plans and training programs. 
  • Ensuring legal compliance and alignment with regional and national frameworks. 
  • Ensuring that employment relations issues are managed effectively and in the best interest of the business. 
  • Processing HR requests and queries, maintaining accurate employee data and completing all HR processes, ensuring that all processes are administered accurately. 

We are looking for someone who is easy going, calm under pressure and who can prioritise their workload effectively. Someone who has a flexible and can-do approach will thrive in this environment. 

 

About you:  

  • You may have a tertiary qualification or have relevant experience working in HR or business management.  
  • Experience with employment relations matters, including leading formal processes. 
  • Strong understanding of relevant employment legislation and compliance. 
  • You will be comfortable advising and “getting on” with all aspects of Human Resources.   
  • You will have fantastic interpersonal skills and will enjoy getting to know the people you work with.   
  • You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. 
  • You will be able to work under pressure and have the ability to prioritise. 
  • You will be someone who seeks to find a solution that works for everyone.
