At the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery | Len Lye Centre, we are a bold and innovative contemporary art centre, connecting people, communities and cultures and encouraging critical dialogue about the world we live in. Founded in 1970 through the visionary generosity of Monica Brewster, the gallery is an internationally recognised space for contemporary art, with a special focus on Aotearoa and connecting outward into Te Moana nui-a-Kiwa. We are the global home of pioneering filmmaker and kinetic sculptor Len Lye, whose legacy remains relevant through exhibitions, publications and archives in the award-winning Len Lye Centre and Cinema. Join the team at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre and help create exceptional experiences for our visitors. As an Information Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting our vibrant events programme, assisting with cinema operations and providing a welcoming and engaging experience for all who visit the Gallery and Len Lye Cinema.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 24 hours per week across a 7-day roster, including weekends and evenings. You'll be part of a dynamic team delivering world-class arts, film and cultural experiences in one of Aotearoa New Zealand's leading contemporary art destinations.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua

• Support the smooth running of gallery events, public programmes and cinema sessions, ensuring visitors receive exceptional service.

• Assist with Len Lye Cinema operations, including front-of-house support, visitor guidance, ticketing and audience management.

• Deliver high-quality customer service and hospitality at gallery and community events.

• Provide welcoming, knowledgeable assistance to visitors about the gallery, exhibitions, events and the wider region.

• Actively follow all legislative, health and safety and security requirements.

Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

• Strong communication and people skills

• Confident engaging with diverse visitors

• Customer service experience helpful but not required - training provided

• Te Reo Māori knowledge an advantage
