Intermediate INFOSEC Assurance Advisor

My client needs an Intermediate Information Security (INFOSEC) Assurance Advisor to provide assurance within their organisation. The Intermediate INFOSEC Assurance Advisor (IAA) is responsible for providing assurance within the organisation. The IAA will assist the team in being that link between the strategic direction provided by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the rest of the organisation within the areas of Certification and Accreditation (C&A).

Note: You will need to be eligible to work in New Zealand and be able to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance (applicants outside of NZ, Aus, US, UK and Canada may not be eligible).

You will have the following skills and experience:

• In depth understanding of the NZISM and PSR;  
• Experience working in a complex government environment;  
• Technical skill and experience in security and certification and accreditation process and controls; 
• Risk management experience, preferably security related and/or internal audit experience; 
• A broad understanding of public sector (government) agencies; 
• Excellent engagement management, delivery, and report writing skills;
• Proactive, highly committed and service driven with a desire to add value and capable of identifying and addressing customers/ needs;
• Ability to think methodically, establishes and maintains sound processes and systems, and responds quickly to complex issues;
• Proactive and effective management of internal and external relationships, conscious of organisational reputation;
• Effective workload management and delivery on commitments with the ability to deliver on requests in an accurate and timely manner (including meeting tight deadlines with enthusiasm);
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for all levels and complexities;
• Ability to assimilate information quickly and translate this in a way that is easily digestible in spoken or written form
• Two+ years in a security or risk management or internal audit role; 
• Three to five years in a security technical discipline;
• Proven experience working directly with and supporting senior leadership at a strategic level; and
• Proven experience as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
• Formal qualification relevant to profession, such as bachelor of information related topic or professional certification i.e. CISSP, CISM.
• May be required to be available for work outside core hours. 
  Obtain and maintain appropriate level of security clearance required to access all classifications of systems; and 
  Must be able and willing to travel within New Zealand and overseas
