Intermediate Structural/Civil/Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist

Walker Engineering Consultants is a fast-growing engineering consultancy firm that provides services in the fields of structural, civil, and geotechnical engineering, catering to projects across Auckland, the Bay of Plenty, the Waikato and New Zealand as a whole. We work on projects that include residential, industrial, commercial, civil structural, bridges, and general civil infrastructure. Specialized fields include structural and geotechnical engineering designs as well as general civil engineering and contract management. The practice is based in Auckland, Eden Terrace and has been running since January 2022. Our team focuses on providing the community with the best engineering services possible.  

We are looking for an experienced/intermediate level Structural Civil or Geotechnical Engineer to deliver a range of project work, including design and detailing, investigations and reporting, site assessments, retaining wall and foundation designs, structural or geotechnical analysis and construction monitoring. 

The ideal candidate would have the following attributes and skills: 

1. A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and/or Geology is essential. 
2. Have at least 3 years of engineering experience as a consultant. 
3. Have a driver's license. 
4. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients. 
5. Work effectively in a team and independently. Remote working from home is likely required. 
6. Provide internal and external clients with sound advice on design and investigation matters.
7. Able to resolve problematic issues by carrying out tasks with a high attention to detail and developing practical solutions. 
8. Lives in Auckland, New Zealand or is willing to relocate to Auckland in the future. 
9. Be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or have an eligible work permit.
10. Applicants with > 2 years of engineering experience are also encouraged to apply.
