About pH7
pH7 is New Zealand’s leader in HAZCHEM safety solutions. We represent nine leading international manufacturers in New Zealand along with five of our own brands. Our products are sold through industrial safety, engineering supply, trade supply and rural supply companies throughout New Zealand. The Role
Reporting through to the Managing Director and being part of the Leadership team, you will play a vital role in our success by making sure we have the right products available at the right time.
This is an autonomous role managing our overseas supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, managing stock turn and DIFOT and planning and organising freight shipments via sea or air freight.
What your day to day will look like
Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing manufacturers in key locations including China, Japan, USA, Sweden, Czech Republic, Australia and Malaysia.
Inventory Management: Balance the competing needs of stock turn and product availability to maintain optimal inventory levels at all times, applying our inventory forecasting tools.
ERP System Management: Update and maintain purchase pricing and payment terms in our ERP systems (Dynamics and Netstock) to provide accurate financial records and to streamline procurement processes.
International Freight Coordination: Organise and oversee international freight movements via sea or air, providing for the timely delivery of goods while minimising costs. Work closely with our freight forwarders and keep the rest of the company up to date with freight movements.
Supplier Sourcing: Continuously seek out new suppliers to diversify our supply chain and optimise procurement strategies.
Performance Reporting: Provide regular feedback to suppliers on their performance and negotiate pricing and service agreements to safeguard the best possible terms for pH7.
Internal Liaison: Contribute to the strategic direction of pH7 as a pivotal member of the leadership team. Liaise with our sales team/business analyst/finance manager/warehouse manager to understand the various competing needs of the business while successfully managing the purchasing function.
What do you need to have?
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in international trade, purchasing or procurement
* Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and negotiating favorable termsStrong analytical skills and proficiency in ERP systems
* Willingness to travel internationally as needed to visit suppliers and attend industry events
* Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of procurement activities, including contract negotiation, checking stock quality, supplier communication and financial analysis.
