The National Organised Crime Group (NOCG) have teams based in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga and Christchurch.
NOCG is mandated by central government to detect, investigate, confront, prosecute and disrupt the activities of serious and organised criminals, including those immersed in financial crime. This is achieved through collaboration and co-operation with law enforcement and other agencies situated both nationally and internationally.
NOCG investigations are often challenging and complex, involving a full range of best practice overt and covert investigation techniques, including electronic and physical surveillance, and the recruitment and management of CHIS. This commonly involves targeting organised criminal enterprises, senior gang members, international syndicates or professional facilitators involved in the importation and supply of illicit drugs and associated money laundering. Our current vacancies provide the opportunity to directly contribute toward the investigation of serious and organised crime, impacting the criminal environment.
NOCG are looking for an investigator (authorised officer) with technical acumen to work within NOCG and alongside specialist staff in High Tech Crime Group. This hybrid role will identify technical lines of enquiry, and facilitate NOCG’s access to a range of tools, capabilities and subject matter experts to enhance investigative outcomes.
Utilising your current IT knowledge, along with training and valuable on the job experience you will become skilled in digital aspects of investigations including components of computer forensics, network forensics, forensic data review, and mobile device forensics.
Internal and external partnerships are a key focus and the successful applicant(s) can expect to be heavily involved in investigations associated with multiple departments within Police and our external partners.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306.00 - $91,353.00 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
