The Role: 

The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing first-level technical support to internal employees. Serving as the first point of contact, you will assist end users through a variety of channels including phone, email, and chat. You will triage incidents and service requests via an internal ticketing system and escalate appropriately when required. Working within a small team you will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and a variety of tasks. While the role focuses on level 1 support, you will also have opportunities to engage in project assignments, providing exposure to more complex tasks to broaden your skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to employee inquiries and requests for technical assistance via phone, email, or chat. 
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve basic technical issues related to software, hardware, network, or system configuration. 
• Configure and deploy hardware for new employees. 
• Follow standard procedures and guidelines to provide consistent and quality service. 
• Document and update the status of incidents and resolutions in a ticketing system. 
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher-level support teams or vendors as needed. 
• Follow up with employees to ensure satisfaction and closure of issues. 
• Maintain and update knowledge base with common issues and solutions. 
• Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge. 

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

• University qualification is desirable but not a requirement.
• 1-3 years providing support on an IT helpdesk.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 stack.
• Experience in providing exceptional customer service.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
