Job Description - Join Our Team as a Software Configuration Developer
At Foster Moore International, we’re proud to develop world-class registry solutions for governments and organisations around the globe. We’re looking for an Intermediate Software Configuration Developer to join our high-performing Global Support Services Team in Auckland.

About the Role
As a Software Configuration Developer, you will work as part of a team to deliver quality production support and enhancements to our global registry clients. Interact with a wide variety of people and roles including clients, business analysts, other developers, testers and project managers to configure, develop and maintain registry applications as outlined in technical design and functional specification documents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Configuration
Configure applications from the Catalyst and Verne product suite
Ensure an understanding of the business needs via business requirements, functional specifications and discussions with business analysts and clients
Offer and or promote alternative technical solutions to business problems
Provide accurate estimates for configuration work to the team
Produce supporting documentation necessary to ensure delivery or operation of the application
2. Testing
Generate integration tests to test functional aspects of the application
Ensure that functional software executes in accordance with internal quality levels
3. Support & Continuous Improvement
Provide general support and specific incident analysis, troubleshooting and resolution as required
Provide input into production support issues as requested by the Global Support Services team
Engage in the full SDLC process and suggest alternatives or promote positive change at every opportunity
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in an IT environment
At least 2 years’ hands-on experience in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Groovy, C#, PHP)
Technical Skills
A sound technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts with applicable platforms, frameworks, servers, languages, tools and technology
A thorough understanding and relevant experience in web technologies (e.g. XML, HTML, JavaScript, JSON, CSS)
Good understanding and implementation experience of web services (REST or SOAP)
Thorough understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC); experience in Kanban or Scrum teams is preferred
Experience using SDLC tools such as defect tracking systems (e.g. Jira), build and continuous delivery (e.g. Jenkins)
Good understanding of database concepts and working knowledge of SQL
Good understanding of source control processes and tools (e.g. branching, merging, Git, SVN)
Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps is advantageous

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
