Job Description - Journalist - Wellington

An opportunity to work with New Zealand’s award-winning public media company, RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content.

Te Mahi – About the job

RNZ has an opportunity for a n experienced ( intermediate or senior) J ournalist who is committed to good quality , impartial journalism and has the drive to get their work on our news programmes and digital channels every day.

You will regularly contribute ideas about what to cover, along with reporting live on air and online, breaking news and running stories. This is a full-time position requiring shift work and is based in Wellington.

Above all this is an opportunity to work with our well-respected News team delivering relevant and trusted news that matters to Aotearoa New Zealand.

You will:

  • H ave daily news experience and be brimming with story ideas .
  • B e calm and efficient under pressure, bringing accuracy, attention to detail and creativity to your work .
  • F eel comfortable filing audio, visuals, and copy for our platforms.
  • Have a strong, broadcast quality voice which is essential.
  • Be flexible and able to commit to shift work
