Judicial Resource Manager / Personal Assistant

Wellington, Full time

This is a pivotal position and we are looking for an exceptional person to take on this key role in supporting the Tenancy Tribunal. The preference is for this role to be located in Wellington but for the right person, we will consider other locations.

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

The Judicial Resource Manager/Personal Assistant is responsible for the rostering and scheduling of the Tenancy Tribunal nationwide, along with providing professional administrative support to Principal and Deputy Principal Tenancy Adjudicators.

Your experience working alongside judicial officers, in a Court or Tribunals environment or equivalent, will showcase your relationship management and collaboration skills. In addition, your ability to prioritise and coordinate a variety of tasks means you can effectively ensure the full utilisation of resources to promote efficiency for the Tenancy Tribunal.

Working alongside your team, you maintain a customer-centred approach, enabling you to build a high trust model with the Tribunal's judicial officers.

To be successful in this role you will need to

  • Problem solve – no two days are the same, you will be able to respond to challenges as they arise especially when undertaking rostering and scheduling tasks
  • Advise and support – both the Principal Tenancy Adjudicator and other judicial officers to ensure the Tribunal runs efficiently
  • Manage relationships – you play a critical role between the judicial officers, the wider courts and tribunals teams and other government departments
  • Be administratively savvy – confident and a confidant, you can transcribe, manage a diary, respond to correspondence, and provide robust administrative support to the judicial officers
  • Have an eye for detail – using your organisational ability you will coordinate logistics for conferences and training sessions and availability of hearing rooms for the Tenancy Tribunal hearings, nationally
  • Be the ultimate professional - With pride in your work, you will strive to deliver a service to the Tribunal and external parties with high accuracy and professionalism.
  • Have an understanding of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi and how they apply to the Ministry.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $72,634 and $93,591 based on skills and experience.
