Junior Quantity Surveyor - Positive Work Culture

We are assisting our client with the appointment of a permanent, full time Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their busy Dunedin based civil works team.

This role may suit a recently qualified Quantity Surveyor, as you’ll be mainly assisting with the tendering / quoting process for projects in the civil construction space. You’ll be working closely with the contracts / project managers with pricing to ensure that tender deadlines are achieved. 

Our ideal candidate may already have some exposure to civil works, and therefore have an understanding civil construction processes.

The job 

• Assist with pricing and quoting  for civil works projects
• Tendering / quoting for a variety of small to more complex projects
• Assist the Project Manager / Contracts Manager with tender submissions 
• Price variations
• Review and back cost completed jobs as required
• Assist Project Managers invoicing processes

The Person 

• May suit a recently qualified QS looking to progress their career
• Some experience / exposure in civil construction (preferred but not essential)
• Broad understanding of pricing methodology within civil construction sector
• Well-developed communication and negotiation skills
• Strong numeracy and spreadsheeting skills
