We are seeking a team leader who has experience in building a team of dynamic people who will be able to:
- Build positive relationships with tamariki, mokopuna and whanau
- Connecting with whanau, hapu, and iwi
- Working with our whanau to achieve their goals
The expectation of your role for you would be able to demonstrate:
- Empowering others to deliver social work services to a high standard and meet KPI
- Expertise in applying the articles and principles of the Treaty of Waitangi into practice
- Use initiative to resolve issues and be able to think on your feet
- Have a good understanding of IT resources, e.g. laptops, phones
- Have experience in managing and leading people.

Qualification
Team Leader – Kaiarataki must either:
- Hold a minimum of a level 7 Degree in a discipline relevant to working with children and their whānau or financial and Logistic
- Supervision qualification
- Experience as a team leader with over 2 or more years of driving performance with the set-out KPIs.
Essential
- A current clean, full driver’s licence,
- Pass a Police Check;
- Drug-Free and Smoke-free
- Apply the articles of the Treaty of Waitangi
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Management experience
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and empower others to achieve
- Demonstrated ability to deliver social work services to a high standard and meet KPIs
- Expertise with technology
- Expertise in applying the articles and principles of the Treaty of Waitangi into practice
- Knowledge and application of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989, Children’s and Young People’s Well-being Act 1989, Care of Children Act 2004, Privacy Act 2020, Official Information Act 1982 and Children’s Act 2014
- Ability to work outside regular working hours as required
Highly Desirable
- Sound knowledge in working in a strengths-based model
- Experience in and demonstrated ability to employ continuous quality improvement models
Skills
- Expert computer literacy,
- Team leadership and management skills
- Project management skills
- A documented high standard of report writing and communication skills
- The ability to extract, manipulate and interpret data across the human resource, financial and social work delivery areas.
