Help grow a trusted food brand portfolio across the supermarket channel

Soung Yeen is a well-established importer and distributor bringing much-loved Asian food brands to market. With a strong reputation, a growing product portfolio and deep roots in the category, Soung Yeen connects retailers and consumers with authentic, high-demand products that shoppers know and trust.

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to help strengthen our presence across supermarket customers, support commercial growth in the channel and ensure strong in-store execution. Initially, this role will focus on the North Island, with the opportunity to broaden in scope over time.

This is a great opportunity for someone with FMCG and supermarket experience who enjoys building relationships, working closely with customers and helping ensure products are well represented in store.

About the role

This role is responsible for managing key supermarket relationships and supporting Soung Yeen’s continued growth in the channel.

You will work closely with buyers, store managers and internal teams to ensure products are well positioned, promotions are executed effectively and opportunities for account growth are identified and supported.

This role would suit someone who is commercially minded, highly organised, relationship-driven and confident working in a fast-moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

Account management and growth

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with supermarket buyers, store managers and key customer contacts
  • Support the ongoing development of supermarket accounts across the North Island
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen product presence, distribution and overall account performance
  • Contribute to commercial growth through new listings, promotional activity and account development
  • Respond to customer needs and account-related matters in a timely and professional way

In-store execution and support

  • Support strong product visibility through effective merchandising, product placement and planogram compliance
  • Help ensure promotional activity, signage and in-store marketing materials are executed well
  • Provide guidance and support to store teams on product knowledge and merchandising requirements
  • Monitor in-store activity and competitor presence and share relevant market feedback

Planning and collaboration

  • Work closely with warehouse, logistics and marketing teams to support product availability and promotional execution
  • Assist with customer reporting, forecasts, presentations and account updates
  • Maintain accurate records of account activity, in-store execution and performance outcomes
  • Support product launches and channel initiatives as required

What you will bring

  • Experience in FMCG, ideally within supermarkets, grocery, or food distribution
  • Strong understanding of supermarket environments, merchandising and in-store execution
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and an eye for growth opportunities
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confidence working independently, solving problemsan d making sound decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using CRM or sales reporting tools
