KIA TU – PATHWAY PLANNING TUTOR
LIMITED TENURE (24 July 2024 to 24 June 2025)
Join Southern Institute of Technology| Te Pūkenga, a distinguished entity, renowned for its excellence in tertiary vocational education. We're on the lookout for a qualified and experienced individual to fill the above role. The position is for limited tenure due to funding approved for the period 24 July 2024 to 24 June 2025.
The core objectives of this role revolve around adopting a whānau-centered approach to teaching and supporting ākonga in the Kia Tū Pathway Planning programme.
Key responsibilities include:
We are particularly interested in applicants who hold Certificates in Tertiary and Training or equivalent qualifications. Additionally, a degree in Education or a related field in Counselling would be advantageous. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with second-chance learners, foundation programmes, a Matauranga Māori approach, and a demonstrated commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
While previous teaching experience would be a distinct advantage, training is available in this area with academic staff being required to undertake study towards the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5), offered through SIT.
